Introducing...
The Man Swap
It's time to let the guys in on this great free clothes & free stuff deal - so we've started a Man Swap! (No, not swapping a man, swapping men's clothes, silly.)
Go to the Sizes Page for info!
Click HERE to find your size & attend a swap! |
We're glad you could make it! Relax, have a seat and find out what's groovy!
So, what is PDXSwap, anyway? Well, we're a group of women
folks (it's not just women anymore!) in the Portland Metro area who get together on a regular basis for a clothing swap! As far as we know, PDXSwap is the only regular, local clothing swap in the Portland Metro area!
If you've ever been to a clothing swap (or even a thrift store), you know what a pain it is to sift through racks and piles of clothes, hunting desperately for your size. By concentrating on one segment of clothing sizes in each swap group, we're able to have a fun, easy time of just swapping clothes (and shoes, and belts, and mittens...).
All are welcome to join us! All we ask is that you bring only clothing in wearable condition (no rips, tears or visible stains), and only in sizes specified for the groups to which you're attending (see the Swap Sizes page for more details). Petite sizes and junior equivalents are very much welcome, as are shoes, belts and other accessories. Check out the What and When links for more details!
Which swap should you attend? Check out the Swap Sizes page for details and contact information for each swap!
PSSST... a message from Rae, founder of PDXSwap.com
Now that we have (a huuuuge mailing list), we don't really need to buy clothing much, if at all, as there is an abundance.
However, sometimes you need that perfect thing that you haven't found at a swap (for me, it is sweat pants!!). So, if you have to buy something, BUY QUALITY.
For me, that means ORGANIC if possible. What does organic clothing mean, exactly?
Well, sadly, all of our clothing is toxic... If it isn't made of toxic off-gassing plastic (such as polyester, acrylic, etc) then it is made of cotton or other fabric that was sprayed HEAVILY with pesticides in the growing process and dyed with toxic dyes.
So, if we make very wise purchases, we can slowly eliminate the toxins from our world.
Keep in mind that just buying hemp clothing does not mean it is organic.
Hemp is sprayed too, just like cotton, and is not safe unless it is organic.
Really, I swear.
Love, Rae
